Knowledge from books and knowledge
from experience
Nowadays, most people appreciate learning at school, where a number of books are the source of knowledge. As we enthusiastically study in classroom, we learned several mathematic equations, or a number of science theories. What’s more, a person in his/her lifetime cannot experience everything, but reading books on particular subjects one can gain knowledge over those subjects in less time. These are books available on any subjects that one needs.
A person can also gain knowledge and learn many valuable lessons through his/her own practical experiences. The knowledge learnt from experience is very likely to be retained in our memory for a long period of time. In other words, learning through experience can also be effective.
From my point of view, learning from experience is much more important than learning from books since our lives concern more knowledge from experience than knowledge from books. The reason is that in everyday life we must face with a lot of situations, either extremely hard or easy to cope with, that can not be handle by just knowledge from books, we have to practice on our own. To sum up, books are like a guiding light in one's pursuit for knowledge, but it is left to everyone of us to experience it first hand and learn new things for the betterment of their lives. So the notion” experience is the best teacher" is perfectly true.
